Quartz

Engineered stone quartz is an increasingly popular option for kitchen countertops. It is highly durable, easy to clean, and resistant to stains and scratches. As a man-made material, quartz offers a more uniform color and pattern than natural stone options like granite. This consistency appeals to clients who enjoy symmetry or who are put off by the less consistent patterning and veining of natural stone. In addition, modern designs can closely mimic the look of natural stone like granite, marble or limestone, while requiring much less maintenance. This makes engineered quartz a competitive option in terms of price point compared to natural stone.

Natural Stone

When it comes to natural stone countertops, granite and marble are the most popular choices. Limestone and soapstone are also commonly used. Natural stone is highly durable and can withstand the demands of an active kitchen. Its natural variations in color and texture make each countertop unique. In addition, natural stone stands the test of time, both in terms of durability and style. However, it does require regular maintenance and resealing to ensure food safety and maintain its appearance. In fact, it's recommended to have natural stone sealed when it is first installed and periodically thereafter.
